// MARRIED: Kendra & Christopher- 11/2/13 - Asheville, NC//

Kendra & Christopher were beautifully wed at Grace Episcopal Church in Asheville, North Carolina. Living five minutes from the church, it was something I passed by almost daily and had always hoped of photographing. The stonework is just stunning! And not to mention that red door.

Aaand I also obviously need to recognize Jessica Cochran for being the most amazing second shooter. Thank you immensely! I couldn’t have done it without you.

Onward!

Post-ceremony, we ventured out to Claxton Farm in Weaverville for the reception. Despite the on and off rain showers, the sunshine still managed to peek itself through in opportune moments, and even left us with a double rainbow!

Needless to say, he got plenty of attention and made many friends.

“Becoming a pro is a difficult and nearly impossible task. The photography market is ever changing and oversaturated. It can seem impenetrable. The path to becoming a pro is littered with broken dreams and ill-used expensive gear. There’s no use even trying, people may say to you; you might as well give up and resign yourself to living a dull life. While you’re at it, you should probably stop going outdoors, and please don’t celebrate your birthday with cake.

As for me, I will never live someone else’s drab and dreary life. My time on Earth is my own. And I will dream impossible dreams, I will love until it hurts, I will never give up, and come hell or high water, I will find a way.”

celestiallantern asked: just wanted to tell you that the maddy & jordan series you posted on the asheville tags literally had me tearing up and crying. you captured their emotions and the entire essence of their wedding and i don't even know anything about them. the photos of her and the dad were heart wrenching. it takes a truly talented photographer to capture all of that in a photo. great job.

Wow, thank you! That means so incredibly much. It’s honestly shots like those that make me want to take photos in the first place. You just can’t beat the raw emotion.

Another fantastic opportunity to second shoot with Ruby Peoples Photography for Maddy & Jordan at the NC Arboretum in Asheville. Always so inspiring!

Maddy & Jordan’s wedding was hands-down, one of my favorite weddings. Everything was perfect, down to the last DIY detail. Not even having known Maddy & Jordan beforehand, I could just tell that everything about their wedding embodied them as a couple. Oh, and so exciting to find out that they both went to SCAD!

The gorgeous terrarium centerpieces that Maddy made! It was incredibly difficult not to snag one for myself.

Favor tree:

Her hair, you guys! A-MAZing.

And I’m pretty sure Maddy & her dad have the sweetest relationship ever. His expressions were perfect during his first look:

And this kid! Best picture-taker ever. Any photo he wasn’t allowed to be in resulted in crying.

Personal fav:

And onto one of my favorite series evvver:

Thank you, Ruby, for allowing me to have such creative freedom and being such a joy to work with! Looking forward to next time. And thank you, Maddy & Jordan, for allowing me to help capture such a beautiful wedding!

// MARRIED: Jon & Angie - 9/22/12 - Asheville, NC//

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Jon & Angie Dillingham’s unique wedding last Saturday in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville. When Angie told me they were tying the knot on the fountain in the park (sans the water), I was thrilled! The surrounding area is beautiful and has some fantastic photo spots.

To start the day, Angie & the girls got ready at Dragonfly Salon in downtown Asheville.

Then we ventured to the reception site (a fantastically unique cabin in Fairview) to finish getting ready.

Olivia, the adorable little flower girl:

The other bride! She had her wedding just a few hundred feet away.

Onto Brioso for the reception:

Love this series!:

Adorable.

Congrats you guys! And thanks for letting me capture your big day!
